Darth Vader Cookies and Cream Chocolate Truffles

Come on everyone loves Star Wars...and everyone loves a great party :)

To plan a great theme party, the 3 most important elements:
1. Decoration
2. Food
3. Entertainment

Firstly, decoration is very important in a theme party. It builds the party up, letting your guest immerse into the theme. Creating an atmosphere and vibe that just puts your guest in perspective.

Second, the food is like the cherry on top with the good decorations. This is where we come in~ Coming up with great themed party food. Wowing your guest the second time right after the Insta-worthy decorations with the Snapchat-esqe story to share.

Third, not only feeding and wow-ing your guest, they came to have a great time with you. So entertainment is key. Think outside of the box... or rather inside the theme, to make the experience immersive and once in a life time.

Other elements that tops the party up is invitations, dress codes, party favours, photo opportunities etc

So for example for a birthday or whatnot, you start with thinking a theme you would really enjoy.
Here we are doing Star Wars. Some ideas listed below
1. Galaxy themed backdrop would be great for decoration, hanging up tie fighters and different planets.

2. Food... Tons on our channel or even go to movies for inspiration, like bantha milk milkshakes from the Verse

3. The Forces Awakens Blu-ray is out recently, you can have a screening together while gobbling down the food.
Buy DVD here:Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Plus Bonus Features)

4. Try to coordinate dress codes so you have one of every character and not just a bunch of Reys or Kylo Rens, they make great photo ops and wonderful memories.

More of the party chat on the next post... back to todays Recipe:::

Darth Vader Cookies n cream Chocolate Truffles

We are so inspired by Darth Vader that we chose this combination to the recipe
Cookies and Cream embodies Anakin Skywalker so well, white with speckles of black wrapped in a dark casing.
White = Light, in the prequels / Black = Dark, Sith Lord / Dark chocolate Casing = His suit
It makes perfect sense...

Cookies n Cream Chocolate Truffle
Yields 30 truffles

Ingredients
100g (3.5 oz) White chocolate
40g (3 tbsp) Heavy cream
3 Oreo cookies
2.5g (½ tsp) Vanilla extract
10g (2 tsp) Unsalted butter, melted

Dark Chocolate

Method
1. Remove filling from Oreos and set it a side
2. Crush the cookies with a rolling pin in a plastic bag into crumbs
3. Toss the cookie crumbs in butter to coat them, refrigerate until use
4. In a heat proof bowl, combine cream, crème filling and white chocolate, heat it in the microwave or on a bain mare until smooth
5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract
6. Let it cool at room temperature until thicken
7. Fold in cookie crumbs
8. Gently melt dark chocolate to temper it
9. Fill the molds with it and wait for 30 seconds
10. Tip the excess chocolate out and clean the edges
11. Let the shell set before filling
12. Fill the shells with the cooled cookies and cream gancahe ¾ way full
13. Tap the mold on the counter to smoothen the filling
14. Add more dark chocolate to seal the molds up
15. Let it set and harden before popping them out of the mold

Tips
I. Dark chocolate needs to be tempered to set crisp, if you are new to working with chocolate, you can use black candy melts which does not require tempering
II. You can dye the chocolate black with black oil-based food colouring
III. You can still make great truffles without the mold
